Does Your Small Business in the Philippines Actually Need a Website in 2026?
· Business Strategy
An honest answer — not a sales pitch. Some Filipino small businesses genuinely do not need a website yet. Here is how to tell which side of the line you are on.
An honest assessment of whether a Philippine small business needs a website in 2026. You probably do not need one yet if you are a one-person sari-sari store serving only walk-in neighbors, fully booked through word-of-mouth, or testing an unvalidated business idea. You genuinely do need one if your customers Google before they buy (clinics, contractors, resorts, real estate, professional services), if you are losing customers to "let me check their website", if you spend on ads (send them to a landing page not a Facebook page), or if you want to sell beyond your barangay. A Facebook page and website do different jobs — Facebook for community, website as the home base you own. The simple test: if Facebook disappeared tomorrow, could customers still find you? If no, you are building on rented land. Start small with a ₱15,000-₱25,000 site and expand as you grow.
